Integrated Technologies - Grade Nine - TTI-1O

Integrated Technologies is the only Technological Education course in grade nine. All students will achieve the expectations found in the curriculum document but they may do this in different facilities and they may use a variety of equipment and materials. One of the purposes of integrating the broad based technologies with information technologies is that upon completion of the grade nine course students will be in the position to make informed choices about Technological Education courses at the grade 10, 11, and 12 levels.

Technological education has moved away from a trade-specific focus at the grade nine level to one of integration and the development of transferable skills. This is reflected in the consolidation of areas within technological studies into four "broad-based technology" areas. The four areas are:

Computer Technology - (Electrical / Computer Education)

Construction Technology - (Wood Working / Architecture)

Technological Design - (Designing in the other Tech areas / Drafting)

Transportation Technology - (Automotive / Mass / Personal Transportation)

Integrated Technologies is a great, all encompassing course designed to let the grade nine student experience most or all of the Technology Courses offered here at Streetsville Secondary School.
