Through a partnership with Sheridan College, the Peel District School Board is offering dual-credit Co-op programs. These programs are for grade 11 or 12 students who are interested in gaining practical experience in a hands-on trade. Dual-credit programs offer you the opportunity to earn BOTH secondary school and college credits!
Career Opportunities in the Trades & Technology (COTT)
- Offered in both semester 1 and semester 2
- Is COTT for you?
- Are you enrolled in grade 11 or 12, in the Peel District School Board?
- Are you interested in the trades & technology?
- Are you interested in gaining some practical, hands-on experience in a variety of career paths?
- If you answered “yes” to these questions, COTT may be for you!
Trade areas include:
- Basic carpentry
- Drywall techniques
- Electrical
- Painting
- Welding
- Industrial maintenance
You could earn 1 high school credit AND 3 college credits for Sheridan’s Industrial Practices course.
Trades & Technology Opportunities and Pathways (TTOP)
Electrician Programs:
- You could earn 2 high school credits + 4 college credits for Residential Prints & Standards + 3 additional college credits for Electrician Safety
- College credits can be applied to the Electrician Pre-Trades program from Sheridan College
Precision Machining & Tooling:
- You could earn 2 high school credits + 3 college credits for Mechanical Drafting Fundamentals + 3 more credits for Manufacturing Trade Safety
- College credits can be applied to the Mechanical Techniques, Tool & Die Maker Pre-Trades Program
